The season of loooove is upon us groovers! 💕 And let's be real, there is nothing we love more than our gorgeous pups! That's why we wanna spoil them, and when we do we've got to make sure we are keeping them safe. 😇
First up, feel like its common knowledge that dogs and chocolate don't mix. It's got this thing called theobromine that perks us up but is actually toxic to dogs and messes with there stomachs. So don't be treating them to any of that as it can lead to puking, the runs, a racing heart, shaky fits, feeling hot, as well as drinking and peeing more than usual. Keep those chocolates out of reach! 🚨
If your pup accidentally gets into some chocolate, whilst you and your partner are getting down to business, seek immediate veterinary attention. You will need to provide information on the type and amount of chocolate consumed, as the severity of chocolate toxicity depends on the type and amount of chocolate ingested, as well as the size and breed of the dog.
It is also important to note that lilies, roses, and tulips can also be toxic to dogs. Just please be wary these next few weeks of what is in your dogs reach!
Now the serious talk is over, let's move on to some of our favourite ways to spoil your pup!🤪
Provide them with treats that are not only delicious, but also nutritious. Treat them to some protein packed lean meats or cheese (don't just pay the cheese tax give them a proper bite!), or look for treats that have limited ingredients (less likely to have unhealthy additives) and high-quality protein sources (real meat). 💪
Take them for a date, either with another dog or just the two of you (or more depending on how big your dog family is!). Setting aside time for your pup should always be a priority, but treating them to a whole day of fun is a great way to show them your love. A walk to your dogs favourite place with their friends, or going on a totally new adventure with lots of new smells can be great bonding time. You could even top it off with a cheeky stop at a dog friendly cafe for a pup cup, or pub (if it's a really cool one it might even sell dog friendly beer!🍻).
Gifting your dog their favourite types of toys is another must for valentines! Be wary of ones that aren't intended for dogs though as they may be unsuitable (for instance bead eyes which can be a choking hazard) or cheap, poorly made, dog toys that will break easily. We are a big fan of enrichment toys for dogs as these provide a lifetime of entertainment for your pups. 🐶
Even better still, spoil your dog with a new funky harness, collar, lead or tennis ball from us! We have the perfect his or hers collection listed below. We also consider safety and comfort a top priority in our products so it's really a treat for you and your pet.
Peace, Love, & Disco is perfect for the party girls! Pretty in pink, yet made funky with its disco balls and 80s flowers. 💕
Pawstruck is the design for the ultimate dude, guaranteed to woo any lady at the dog park. 😎
We hope you and your pups have the best valentines day yet! Don't forget to share the love and tag us in any content groovers!
Lots of love,
Ellie & Paige x
